The Switched Rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs) are sophisticated solutions for many power supply problems in current IT environments. These problems include the unauthorized use of outputs, system crashes, power surges, overloads and remote access to the outputs in the rack. The Switched Rack PDUs solve these problems by the possibility to control each output individually, to define delays when switching on and off, to monitor the power supply, to set alarm threshold values ​​and by the network management functions. Users can turn individual outputs on and off, restore power to failed systems, and prevent unauthorized access to the outputs. The current delays allow users to set the order, with which the equipment is switched on and off. By defining delay times, power surges that can lead to overloads are avoided. Monitoring power consumption at the rack level is a critical factor in avoiding downtime due to overloaded circuitry. The Switched Rack PDUs provide an overview of the total power consumption, which can be monitored locally via a digital display, i.e. remotely. In addition, various warnings are issued as soon as user-defined threshold values ​​are exceeded, which can lead to overloading of the circuits. (Currently only available on certain models.
