The 3Com Switch 4500G has two slots on the back for dual-port 10 Gigabit modules. This module uses XFP transceivers, which are available separately. 10 Gigabit Ethernet is a standard-based method for connections with 10 times the performance of Gigabit Ethernet. It is the perfect bundling technology if gigabit is to be set up to the desktop or if core and distribution switches are to be connected to one another.
